ICA 2025 Las Vegas Meetup: A Recap from Grit Brokerage

GritBroker

The Internet Commerce Association (ICA) recently hosted its annual meetup in Las Vegas at the end of January, bringing together some of the brightest minds in the domain industry. Held once again at Resorts World Las Vegas, the event featured an engaging schedule filled with networking, learning, and fun.

Kicking off the meetup was the pre show party on Sunday night at Monte Cahn's (ROTD.com) Crash & Burn, his bar and games spot in downtown Las Vegas. Monte and sponsors provided a great venue for attendees to reconnect, unwind, and set the tone for the days ahead. As always, it was a fantastic way to engage with industry peers in a relaxed and lively atmosphere.

Monday, the first full day of activities, began with an ICA board meet and greet in the morning, providing members the chance to engage directly with leadership. The afternoon was packed with enjoyable activities. Michael took the opportunity to hike through the stunning Red Rock Canyon, while Brian jumped into the competitive pickleball tournament. Other attendees opted for Top Golf, museum tours, and various other fun experiences.

The opening night gala was a highlight, featuring a great spread of food and, more importantly, the presence of some of the most influential figures in the domain industry. The ICA has a way of attracting top players and thought leaders, making every interaction valuable. A key moment of the evening was the presentation of the ICA's prestigious Lonnie Borck Memorial Award, which recognizes individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to fostering community within the domain industry. This year’s well deserved recipient was industry veteran Richard Lau. Additionally, Atom’s Darpan Munjal was honored with the Trailblazer Award for his significant advancements in the domain industry over the past year.

Tuesday was a packed business day featuring a series of insightful sessions, including a policy intelligence briefing, the ICA town hall, and expert led breakout discussions. The evening wrapped up with an entertaining dinner featuring a hypnotist and mentalist, adding a unique touch to the event. The closing reception on Tuesday was a nice way to end the meetup. After that, there was a sponsored poker tournament in which 60+ members participated and had great fun.

Las Vegas remains an excellent setting for the ICA meetup, offering a perfect mix of business and social engagement. The event not only strengthens industry relationships but also reinforces the critical role the ICA plays in protecting domain owners' rights.

Grit Brokerage is proud to support the ICA and the important work it does for the domain industry. We appreciate the effort put in by the ICA and all the sponsors to organize such a fantastic event. It was a valuable experience for everyone involved, and we look forward to next year’s gathering and another opportunity to connect with fellow domain professionals.
